Quickbooks Chart of Accounts
Get the control you want when adjusting your chart of accounts.
How it Works
Your chart of accounts is the basis of your entire finance process. Sophisticated businesses need to upgrade the way Quickbooks’ creates reporting, but using the tools on the website makes this process a headache.
Our tool allows you to download your accounts to a spreadsheet and modify them directly in our template. Upload your edits directly to Quickbooks to make adjustments in minutes without getting stuck in options menus.
Using this Tool
This is a simple process, so we try to make the tool as simple as possible. Simply load our template, and your chart of accounts will load with it. Make edits to the accounts, codes, and classifications, then hit upload.
Support
You can add rows to this report, and any data in those rows will be uploaded as new accounts.
Be careful when writing over old accounts, if these accounts have balances in them, some changes you make may impact your financial statements.
Account Subtype is a field that doesn’t do very much in Quickbooks. We recommend not including a value in this column, Quickbooks will assign a default, and it doesn’t really matter what that value is.
Some accounts cannot be changed in Quickbooks. While good practice is to write-over any unused accounts in the default COA Quickbooks provides, some accounts may create validation errors when doing so.
This report will show only active accounts. If you set an account to “inactive” then it will no longer be editable using this template.
