Quickbooks Reporting

The most powerful and flexible reporting and dashboarding tool gives you complete access to your accounting data, for you to use however you want.

How it Works

The Toolkit will generate a template in any spreadsheet, allowing you to download P&L, Balance Sheet or General Ledger data from Quickbooks, with powerful filters built-in.

Once downloaded, you can, pivot, SUMIF, or link this data to whatever other format you like to create management reporting, dashboards, or any other display you like. Reports can be updated by anyone on your team in seconds every time new accounting data becomes available.

Using this Tool

These reports are download-only, but they can be updated at any time. You can have multiple reports in the same document and update them all simultaneously. Use these as the basis of detailed reporting packages that can be formatted however your clients, investors, or leaders choose.

Ideas & Suggestions

Settings (such as which timeframe you run a report for) are cells, and can be updated using formulas. Try using the TODAY() formula to create a report that runs year-to-date whenever you hit the update button, without requiring additional data entry.

The General Ledger report may not be the most convenient format for non-accountants, but it’s the fullest summary of the raw data available in Quickbooks. Almost any tricky analysis can be performed using this dataset as a basis. For example, we use a filtered GL report in conjunction with the Vendors tool to automate 1099s for our clients every year.

Support

You can add additional columns to the General Ledger report by clicking the headers and choosing from the dropdown menu. It’s an easy to miss feature.
