How it Works
Gusto is a powerful tool for managing payroll, but sometimes you need the data in Gusto’s system to make changes in other tools, whether they be your accounting books or just a spreadsheet-based report.
Our tool lets you download a full payroll report for your full-time employees by month, week, year, whatever period you like. Take this data and use it to reallocate to different expense accounts, or use it to create a more detailed reporting of your employees by function.
Using this Tool
This tool makes Gusto reporting data much more easily accessible, and allows you to share this access with others on your team. Pair it with an upload function such as the Journal Entry Uploader to create reconciliation templates that reallocate expenses based on your compensation data. Alternately, you can use the Invoice Loader tool to charge your customers based on comp amounts.
While this report is effective for providing high-level details, Gusto is a flexible platform, and different companies will require different information. We highly recommend that businesses with complex needs explore Custom Reporting to more efficiently access the specific data they require.
Support
Depending on the specifics of your compensation process (which may differ depending on state regulations, tax requirements, etc.), you may wish to use different period settings (i.e. “Weekly,” “Monthly,” etc.), which can be found at the top of the template.
